The main innovation of this project, aside from the development of adaptive and targeted course content, is the creation of three Living Labs and a Virtual Smart Grid lab. The purpose of the Living labs is twofold. First, it allows the students to test their knowledge in a real life environment, letting them record and assess the response of actual users. Second, it enables the industry to test their products, further strengthening the cooperation between academia and industry. The Virtual Smart Grid lab entails a common virtual learning platform designed to provide a shared learning experience to the students across the universities. Moreover, the content of the Master’s degree will be able to include technologies as they mature, focusing for instance on microgrids, logical and virtual nodes, EV charging, and facilitating systems like blockchain.
